Are You Doing Your Boot Camp Circuit Training the Right Way?

by Boot Camps on January 31, 2012

Circuit boot camp training is an efficient and valuable method to lose weight and make your muscles stronger. This type of training keeps you moving rapidly from one work out to the next with little or no rest between. Kettle bells, free weights, body bars, machines and body weight are all used in circuit boot camp training.

There are two ways to do boot camp circuit training. But, only one of those ways will help you lose fat, build muscle and improve your general wellbeing. All you’ll get from the other way is frustration and lack of results.

Here’s How Most People Do Circuit Training the Wrong Way: They Cheat

That’s right. When they’re supposed to do ten push ups, they do eight. When they’re supposed to do standing mountain climbers, they only lift their legs halfway. When they’re supposed to sprint, they jog. If you want your weight loss efforts to be successful you must push your body further than you normally would. You might need to work your way up to the tests of circuit boot camp training.

How to do Circuit Boot Camp Training the Right Way

In order to get the most out of circuit training, you need to do the workouts in each circuit, uninterrupted, resting in between for a few seconds if required. Do a single set for each circuit if you want a short workout, or if you prefer a longer, more forceful workout, repeat each circuit. Sip water right through the workout. Don’t stop moving – if you get tired, walk in place. And remember; always check with your doctor before starting any workout plan, especially if you have injuries, illnesses or any other conditions.

Since they usually unite energetic cardiovascular workouts with weights or resistance work that improves stamina, strength and flexibility, boot camp workouts offer powerful physical training. These days you can select from several kinds of boot camp workouts, a far cry from the early days when these workouts were only obtainable as private classes led by fitness experts and personal trainers.

Circuit training plays an essential part in the off-season workouts of numerous professional athletes. It helps you maintain general fitness without any high physical demands.
